Lorraine (Parsons) Stevenson

July 7, 1919 ~ January 3, 2017 (age 97) 97 Years Old


Torrington --  Lorraine P. Stevenson, 97, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Litchfield Woods Health Center Torrington, CT.  She was the beloved wife of the late Rodney W. Stevenson.

        Mrs. Stevenson was born in Glens Falls, NY on July 7, 1919 daughter of the late William Charles and Florence (Finch) Parsons.  She had  been a resident of Glens Falls for most of her life before coming to Torrington 10 years ago to be close to family.  

        Mrs. Stevenson was employed by the Queensbury School District in Queensbury, NY for 25 years as the Director of Food Services receiving recognition for many innovative advancements in school lunch programs.  In New York she was a 50 year member of Mohican Grange and an active member of The Church of The Messiah Episcopal.  In Torrington she became a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and enjoyed her new home and many friends at The Workman.

        Survivors include a son James Stevenson and his wife Margaret of Wakefield, NH and a daughter Jane St. Pierre and her husband Robert of Torrington; grandsons Gregory(Christine), Michael(Nancy) and Todd(Jessica) St. Pierre; granddaughters Debra Guilmart(William),Stephenie(Karl) Paterson and Andrea(Terrence) Creamer: 17 great grandchildren; several nieces, and a nephew.

        She was predeceased by a brother Clifford Parsons, and sisters Irene Howe, Florence Dunn and Shirley Wood.

        Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 11:00am at  Trinity Episcopal Church.  Burial will be in the spring at Seeley Cemetery in Queensbury, NY.
