New Hartford- Stephen I. Alfano, 92, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in his home. He was the beloved husband of 62 years of Joan (Benny) Alfano.
Mr. Alfano was born in Hoboken, NJ, on June 25, 1924, son of the late Patsy Sr., and Elvira (Pellegrini) Alfano. Stephen was a WWII U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran serving with the 64th Fighter Wing as a cryptographer in the Rhineland, a graduate of Catholic University, and was a retired civil engineer.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Joan, include two sons, Christopher X. Alfano of Winchester, and Matthew J. Alfano and his wife Wendy of New Hartford; and two grandchildren, Dylan S. Alfano and Bryana Woodman.
Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 at 1:00p.m. at Hillside Cemetery, 76 Walnut St., Torrington.
