Just received a call today about the loss of Maureen. She and my Mom were so close throughout their lives. She was a wonderful friend and support to Mom always. My deepest sympathies.

Thank you, Dr. Didier, for being such a wonderful teacher. The Melanie Klein and D.W. Winnicott I read with you became embedded in my psyche, as have your clear explanations of their work. Although there were many high points of my M.S.W. education, I will always remember your insights and wonderful classroom presentations.

I knew Maureen as a "colleague down the hall," as some Political Science offices were next to Social Welfare. But more than that, we shared a love of music and we would regularly see each other at the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Open Rehearsals at Tanglewood; she was always welcoming and a pleasure to see.
She did indeed contribute so much to the field of social welfare.

I was very saddened to hear of Dr. Maureen Didier's passing. She was an enthusiastic and accomplished educator, I was fortunate to meet her in 1980, as an MSW student at SUNY Albany. She shared her passion and knowledge with her students and her expertise and life experiences with her NASW colleagues. I will fondly remember her wisdom, grace and warm sense of humor.

A great social worker who enhanced deeply the reputation of all organizations she became affiliated with. A generous heart mixed with tremendous intellect equalled extraordinary quality work. Maureen was one of a kind and she will be missed but her contributions live on through her teaching, example and kindness to others.

A pioneer social worker who greatly influenced social work services in the Capital District. Honor and regrets to all who knew her and studied with her.

Please accept my condolences for the loss of your loved one. I was a student of Dr. Didier's at SUNY School of Social Welfare in the 1970's. I took every course with her that was possible. She was a wealth of knowledge in the field. She held high academic standards and woe was the student who came to her class unprepared.
I have enjoyed a 40 year career in mental health/social work and credit Dr. Didier's teachings for setting a high standard for practice. What a remarkable woman.
