Torrington- Michael R. Shortreed, 52, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington.

Michael was born in Milwaukee, WI, on June 3, 1963, son of Robert W. and Vivian A. (Hardman) Shortreed. Michael struggled all his adult life with mental illness. Recently, he suffered from throat cancer. Friends and family will gather for a memorial service in Worcester, MA on Friday, October 30.
