Marjorie L. (Karl) Fredsall

Torrington- Marjorie L. (Karl) Fredsall, 90, died Monday, January 11, 2016 in her family home. She was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late Frederick F. Fredsall.

        Mrs. Fredsall was born in Litchfield on August 17, 1925, daughter of the late Rudolph and Elsie (Kasper) Karl and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a retired Registered Nurse and had been employed by Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and Extend-A-Care for many years. Marjorie had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Torrington and later Center Congregational Church, where she volunteered for many church functions. She also delighted in her grandchildren's many activities.  As a teenager, during WWII, Mrs. Fredsall was a warplane spotter for the U.S. government. Later in life she became an avid Red Sox fan while her husband maintained his loyalty to the NY Yankees.... that's Love!!

        Survivors include four sons: Robert Fredall and his wife Donna of Sandisfield, MA, William Fredsall and his wife Terry of Salt Lake City, UT, Edward Fredsall and his wife Rosalie, and Thomas Fredsall and his wife Diane, both of Torrington, one daughter, Christine DeVries and her husband Ken of Hopewell Jct., NY, two brothers: Joseph Karl of Fairfield Glade, TN and John Karl of Toledo, OH, three sisters, Dorothy Zenowich of Bantam, Anne Karl of Boston, MA, and Judith Rasero of Newark, DE, twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Frederick R. Karl, and a sister, Joan Weik.

        A celebration of life will take place in the springtime. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, is in care of arrangements.
