David W. Kent

Torrington- David W. Kent, 66, died Thursday, January 5, 2017 in his home. He was the beloved long time companion of the late Gara L. Lombard.

        David was born in Torrington on August 6, 1950, son of the late Robert and Evelyn (Whitney) Kent, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and had been employed as a machine operator with TRW Inc. for many years. David enjoyed motorcycle riding, cruising, vacationing, and classic cars.

        Survivors include a son, Scott D. Kent of Torrington; two brothers, Daniel Kent of Torrington and Robert Kent of San Diego, CA; three sisters, Robin Osborn of Wakefield, NH, Susan Davies of Findlay, OH, and Jean Turpenning of New Milford. David was predeceased by two brothers, Keith Kent and Albert Kent.

Private services will be held at a later date. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.

        Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
