Carolyn (Brown) Ormsby

Atlanta, GA- Carolyn B. Ormsby, 73, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Emory Hospital in Atlanta. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles B. Ormsby.

Mrs. Ormsby was born in Waterbury on July 9, 1942, daughter of the late James and Louise (Petty) Brown, and had been a Torrington resident for over 45 years before moving to Atlanta. She was a retired employee of the Torin Corporation and a member of Praise International Ministries in Atlanta, where she served as a Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly Ormsby of Atlanta, GA, a brother, W. Stanley Brown of Waterbury, a sister, Geraldine “Missy” Morgan of Atlanta, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Carolyn was predeceased by a son, Kevin Ormsby, and a brother, James Brown.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 12:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Friends may call Thursday morning from 10:00a.m. until the time of service. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:30a.m.
