Blanche R. (Bujak) Gutowski

Torrington- Blanche R. Gutowski, 95, died Wednesday, November 25, 2015, in her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter J. Gutowski.

        Mrs. Gutowski was born in Torrington on September 16, 1920, daughter of the late Charles and Stella (Banis) Bujak, and had been a lifelong Torrington resident. She was a retired inspector with the Torrington Co. in the Needle Division, retiring with over 35 years of service. Blanche was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

        Survivors include a son, John W. Gutowski and his wife Peggy of Winchester, a daughter, Gladys A. Brennan of Torrington, a sister, Catherine Marek of Watertown, four grandchildren, Sheryl Lewis and her husband Gary, and Peter Gutowski and his wife Dawn, all of Torrington, John Brennan and his fiancée Amy Pelchat of Barkhamsted, and Debra Zavatkay and her husband Mark of Torrington, two step-grandchildren, Jason Jasch and Jacki Jasch, four great-grandchildren, D.J. Reynolds, Paige Gutowski, Alexis Reynolds, and Molly Gutowski, two loving and devoted caregivers, Nina Pivtorak and Nicholas Frost, and several nieces and nephews.

        Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 10:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. at the funeral home.
