William Ziese, Jr. Obituary
Torrington- William J. Ziese, Jr., 75, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Vicari) Ziese.
Mr. Ziese was born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 29, 1947, son of the late William J. Ziese, Sr., and Rosalie (Ettari) Ziese. He was a retired chemist working in the Nutraceuticals industry. He loved growing his own “Beyond” organic garlic. He also volunteered his time to help with numerous ALS support groups, including creating his own group, “Pills for pALS”. Additionally, he contributed to scientific journals to assist with ALS research.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Marie, include two sons, William J. Ziese, III, and his wife, Erin, of Windsor, and Jonathan A. Ziese of Middletown.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 12:30p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Friends may call Saturday morning from 10:30a.m. until the time of services.
