Susan Martin Obituary

Torrington- Susan Mary Martin, 56, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022, at Hartford Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Richard F. Martin.

Susan was born in Hartford on December 27, 1965, daughter of Jeanne (Bourgeois) Poirier of Canada, and the late Raymond G. Poirier, and had been a Torrington resident for the past 50 years. She was employed as a waitress at several area restaurants. Susan enjoyed motorcycle riding, Harley Davidsons, NASCAR, and Bingo and the friendships she made through it. She will be remembered for her unbelievably good cooking skills and her feisty nature; if you ever got into a fight, you’d want Susie on your side.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, Richard, and mother, Jeanne, include a daughter, Tiffany Poirier of Suffield, MA, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
