Robert A. Blandino

Torrington- Robert A. Blandino, 72, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lois F. (Battistoni) Blandino.

        Robert was born in Torrington on May 16, 1949, son of the late Louis and Mary (Bauchiero) Blandino, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Era Veteran. Robert was a Mechanical Lab Technician with the Torrington Company for over 20 years. He was a Rural Postal Carrier with the U.S. Postal Service before his retirement. Robert was a member of the Forester’s Club and enjoyed NASCAR and drag racing.

        Survivors, in addition to his wife, Lois, include a brother, Louis Blandino and his wife, Barbara Dattell, of Torrington; two step-daughters, Regina Barron and her partner, George Ballard, of TX, and Susanne Barron of Torrington; a sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Blandino of Torrington, Carol Marsh and her husband, Lester, of New Hartford, Barbara Atwood and her husband, Newell, of New Hartford, and Kathleen Gilbert and her husband, Gary, of Thomaston; 10 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his cherished dog, Dakota. Robert was predeceased by a brother, Ernest Blandino.

        Graveside services with full Military Honors will be held Friday, March 11, 2022, at 1:00p.m. at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 236 E. Pearl Rd., Torrington. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
