Torrington- Rita T. Kozlak, 91, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Litchfield Woods Health Care Center, Torrington.
Miss Kozlak was born in Torrington on September 28, 1928, daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Farkas) Kozlak, and had been a lifelong city resident. Rita was a retired payroll employee with the Torrington Company, retiring with 50 years of service. She was an active lifelong communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church of St. John Paul the Great Parish. Rita had served her church as a Eucharistic Minister, member of the Altar Society, and teaching CCD classes. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and taking walks. Rita will be remembered for playing Mrs. Santa at Christmastime family gatherings.
Survivors include two brothers, Edward Kozlak and Stephen Kozlak and his wife Josephine, all of Torrington; a sister, MaryAnn Bouchard and her husband Roger of Glastonbury; and many nieces and nephews. Rita was predeceased by a brother, Michael Kozlak and his wife, Angela; and a sister-in-law, Ann Kozlak.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 14, 2020 at 11:00a.m. at New St. Francis Cemetery, 863 S. Main St., Torrington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on a date and time to be announced. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
