Rita Benedict Obituary

Torrington- Rita M. Benedict, 91, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul F. Benedict.

Mrs. Benedict was born in Framingham, MA, on February 9, 1928, daughter of the late Charles and Adnah (Randall) Comolli, and had been a Torrington resident for over 60 years. She enjoyed gardening and completing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter, Holly M. Skoczylas and her husband Thomas; a granddaughter, Melissa L. Scott and her husband Phil, all of Torrington; six great-grandchildren, Cody Pray, Alex Maglalang, Kevin Maglalang, Grace Frasca, Katie Frasca, and Sarah Frasca; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Benedict was predeceased by a grandson, Jeremy P. Frasca; a brother, Charles Comolli; and a sister, Arlene Garside.

Services and burial in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, were private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
