Torrington- Raymond Frederick Hubert, 82, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, at his home. He was the beloved husband of 60 years of Madeleine (Comeau) Hubert.
Mr. Hubert was born in Winsted on January 3, 1940, son of the late Frederick and Alexandrine (Gagne) Hubert, and had been a Torrington resident for 60 years. He was a retired tool and die engineer with the Torrington Company, retiring with 42 years of service. Mr. Hubert was a communicant of St. Maron Church and had volunteered at church bingo and cooked for those in need. He was a former Chairman of the Torrington Wetlands Commission, a literacy volunteer with the Torrington School Reading Program, a volunteer at St. Francis School bingo, a former member of the Torrington Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus, and had been a Boy Scout leader for 20 years. Mr. Hubert was a train enthusiast, enjoyed collecting steins, and most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Madeleine, include a son, Andre D. Hubert and his wife, Lorraine, of Louisville, NC; four daughters, Michelle M. Boulette and her husband, Michael, of Torrington, Colette A. Marshall and her husband, Clayton, of Otis, MA, Renee C. Tousey of Otis, MA, and Annette R. LaMere and her Fiancé, Michael Fries, of Torrington; a brother, Dennis J. Hubert and his wife, Marilyn, of Winsted; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hubert was predeceased by a brother, Andre E. Hubert.
The Divine Liturgy of the Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 10:00a.m. at St. Maron Church, 613 Main St., Torrington. Friends may call Friday, May 27, 2022, from 2:00 to 4:00p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington.
