Norman F. Burlock

Torrington- Norman F. Burlock, 92, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, in his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Corinne B. (Bourque) Burlock.

        Norman was born in Mars Hill, ME, on January 19, 1929, son of the late Fraser and Retha (Baxter) Burlock, and had been a Torrington resident since 1963. He was a proud U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran. His service awards and decorations include the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Marksman Rifle Badge. Norman was a retired employee of New Departure Hyatt Bearing Co. in Bristol, where he had been employed for over 22 years. After his retirement from New Departure Hyatt, Norman was employed at Lone Oaks Campsites in East Canaan, until 2019. He had also been a seasonal camper at Lone Oaks for over 53 years, making many friends over the years.

        Survivors include a daughter, Mary Margaret Teti and her husband, James, of Torrington; four grandchildren, Nicole Penney, Thomas Teti, II, and his fiancée, Kimberly Russell, Bernadette Teti, and James Teti, Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Karissa Teti-Penney, Robert Penney, III, Elizabeth Jayne Teti, Devon Teti, Jayden, Teti, and Alexis Russell; many nieces and nephews, and his extended family at Lone Oaks Campsites. Norman was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth, and his sisters Vera, Winifred, and Mary.

        Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 10:00a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 E. Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.

        At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
