Torrington — Michael Tompkins, 67, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026. Born in Brooklyn on August 4, 1958, Michael lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and devotion to his family and passions.
Michael had a true zest for life, reflected in his love of cooking, his unwavering support for the Chicago Blackhawks, and his fondness for the city of Chicago. Above all, he cherished time with his family, finding joy in creating lasting memories and nurturing meaningful connections.
He was predeceased by his parents, Roy Tompkins Sr. and Sarah Jones-Tompkins, and his spouse, Michelle Seaman. He is survived by his brother, Roy A. Tompkins Jr.; his sister-in-law, Debra Joseph-Tompkins; his nephew, Akeem Tompkins; and his niece, Tiara Tompkins-Bradley, along with her children, Cadence Bradley and August Bradley. He also leaves behind his stepdaughter, Angela Keyes; son-in-law, Bill Wilcox; and his cherished grandchildren, Katlyn, Kara, and Wesley.
Michael held a special place in his heart for his extended family in Connecticut, who had been an important part of his life for the past ten years. He had a remarkable way of making everyone around him feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, CT.
