Linda J. (Janelle) Shaw

Torrington- Linda J. Shaw, 68, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald A. Shaw.

        Linda was born in Biddeford, ME, on January 16, 1952, daughter of the late Lawrence and Rita (Marchand) Janelle, and had been a Torrington resident most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church of St. John Paul the Great Parish and a retired machine operator with Global Steering Systems. Linda enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, taking trips to the beach, walking, and working around the house. She took great pride in keeping her home clean and organized.

        Survivors include two sons, Stephen A. Shaw of Torrington and Peter D. Shaw and his wife, Konnie, of Lakeland, FL; a daughter, Danielle E. Julian and her husband, Guy, of Torrington; four grandchildren, Guy Julian, III, Peter Shaw, Nicolas Shaw, and Joseph Shaw; two brothers, Roger Janelle and his wife, Denise, and Bruce Janelle and his wife, MaryAnn, all of Torrington; six sisters, Laurie Zimmer of Manchester, NJ, Sharon Krupa and her husband, John, and Carol Lopardo and her husband, Kenny, all of Torrington, Shirley Neumann and her husband, Rob, of Plymouth, Robin Gentile and her husband, Frank, and Terry Shafer and her husband, Frank, all of Torrington; her significant other, Paul Landry of Waterbury; a sister-in-law, Karen Janelle of Winsted; a brother-in-law, Gordon Richard of Torrington; and several nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by a brother, Stephen Janelle, and a sister, Pearl Richard.

        Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 11:00a.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 E. Main St., Torrington. Burial will be private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
