Linda Davis Obituary

Torrington- Linda M. Davis, 69, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Valerie Manor, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of Richard A. Davis for nearly 38-years.

        Linda was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 23, 1951, and raised in the Philadelphia area. She had been a resident of Stuart, Vero Beach, Brooksville, Gainesville, and Inverness FL, for most of her adult life before moving to Torrington 10-years ago. Linda attended Upper Marion High School in Valley Forge, PA, class of ’69, and attended nursing school in Philadelphia, PA.

        Linda worked for Martin County Emergency Dispatch, which is where she met her husband, and volunteered at the Martin County EMS as an EMT for a number of years. She retired as a service representative with Bell South Telecommunications after a 20-year career.

        Linda was a woman of strong faith and was a beloved member of her Lutheran church while living in FL. She played the Bells at services, and she enjoyed creative expressions such as painting and crocheting.

        In addition to her husband, Richard, Linda is survived by a daughter, Jennifer L. Grant and her husband, Josh, of Oceanside, CA; a son, John M. Davis and his wife, Maureen O’Neill-Davis, of Torrington; four grandchildren, Isaiah A. Davis-Boynton of Oceanside, CA, Ashley L. Davis, Meah N. Davis, and Logan M. Davis of Torrington; a brother, John Moore and his wife, Deb, of the Dominican Republic, and a niece and a nephew.

        In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Linda’s ashes will be scattered in the Poconos Mountains of Pennsylvania later this year. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
