Jeffrey Carl Olson

Jeffrey Carl Olson, 74, passed away on April 1, 2022. He was diagnosed with cancer and passed on in 2 short months. We want to recognize the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and Hospice with their care and comfort they gave him and his loved ones. He was the beloved partner with the love of his life and soulmate Arlene Wheeler. Arlene’s family became part of his family.

          Jeffrey was born on February 3, 1948, son of the late Edward J. Olson and Norma Jean Nelson Olson Blair. Harold W. Blair was his always present stepfather. He graduated from Canton High School and attended Central Connecticut State College. He was an avid sports fan. He played Little League Baseball and high school basketball. The NBA and college basketball were his favorite by far. He was diverse in his teams, but his Mets were his alltime baseball team. Included would be the Celtics, Nets, Patriots and Red Sox. He also loved golf, especially the Masters and attended the Hartford open many times. Horse racing and Saratoga Races he found exciting. If his team wasn’t playing on tv he would watch any game to satisfy his love of sports.

          He loved being by water. This started as a child with traveling to many places including Leete’s Island, Hammonasset, Lake Willoughby, Fort Myers, Daytona Beach and Block Island to name a few. He had a quick wit and sense of humor. He would start a serious story which would end as a joke and get you every time! He was so kind. Dave Hill wrote this when he heard of his passing. “Let me end by extending my sincerest of condolences for the way too early passing of one of the finest people I ever had the pleasure of calling my friend”.

          With his renewed faith we feel he is “Resting in Peace” in “Eternal Life”. Any prayers in his name would be appreciated.

          Private services were arranged by Pastor Gary Kitchin at the Warren Congregational Church. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
