James William Wolfinger

New Hartford - James William Wolfinger, born in Philadelphia, PA on April 27, 1944, son of the late Thomas and Marion (Kidd) Wolfinger, passed away at the age of 82 on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

He was the beloved husband of Joan (Beetham) Wolfinger and a devoted father to Robert W. Wolfinger and his partner, Jennifer Casey, of Pittsfield, MA and two daughters, Tracey A. Price and her husband, Bryon, of Torrington, and Tricia L. Wolfinger of New Hartford.  He was also a loving grandfather to Brianna, Alex, Heather and Kyle.

James is survived by his sister, Edith Schmittinger and predeceased by his sister Dorothy Wolfinger, and brothers, Thomas Wolfinger and Walter Wolfinger.

James will be remembered for his dedication to his family and the quiet strength and presence he brought to those around him.  His life was marked by the love and compassion he shared with his family and the lasting impact he had on those that knew him.  He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Services will be private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
