Torrington- Jacob J. Sidlosky, Jr., 90, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Litchfield Woods Healthcare Center, Torrington.
Mr. Sidlosky was born in Torrington on July 10, 1931, son of the late Jacob, Sr., and Anna (Simonik) Sidlosky, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran. Mr. Sidlosky was an Expeditor with the Torrington Company at the Broad St. and Morris plants for over 25 years. Mr. Sidlosky was a longtime parishioner of the former Sacred Heart Church, Torrington, and later St. John Paul the Great Parish. He was a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols and a diehard sports fan, whether high school, college, or professional. Mr. Sidlosky enjoyed flower gardening and taking care of his yard.
Survivors include a brother, Clement Sidlosky and his wife, Penelope, of Torrington; two sisters, Mary Kufchak and Elizabeth “Betty” LaGamba, both of Torrington; 8 nieces and nephews, Audrey Waldron, Deborah Nicholas, Karen Kufchak, Thomas Sidlosky, Beth Ann Dropick, Diane LaGamba-Zukowski, Nicholas LaGamba, Jr., and Susan LaGamba; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Litchfield Woods Healthcare Center, for the wonderful care shown to Jacob during his stay.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 10:15a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Wednesday morning from 9:15 to 10:15a.m. at the funeral home.
