Torrington- Francesca M. Samele, 63, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021, at her home.
Francesca was born in Torrington on September 29, 1958, daughter of the late Thomas and Joanne (Polito) Doyle, and had been a city resident most of her life. She was a retired correctional officer with the State of Connecticut, retiring with 20 years of service. Francesca had been an active volunteer since 2011 with Team HOPE and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She will be remembered for her caring nature and great love for all animals.
Survivors include six children, Cassie Nedobity and her husband, Douglas, of Belmont, NH, Ashley Cusson and her husband, William, of Westbrook, Robin Nelson and her husband, Jeremy, of Torrington, John Wheeler of Warren, Ronnie Cellano of Clinton, and Tim Massey of Dayville; a brother, Tom Doyle and his wife, Laurin, of Thomaston; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Francesca was predeceased by a sister, Alison Doyle.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021, at 10:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Friends may call Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 9:00 to 10:30a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
