Torrington- Filemena “Faye” P. Renzullo, 97, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington.
Faye was born in Torrington on June 27, 1923, daughter of the late Patsy and Mary (Staino) Renzullo, and had been a lifelong city resident. She was a communicant of St. John Paul the Great Parish, Torrington, and had formerly been a communicant of Sacred Heart Church for most of her life.
Faye was an avid dog lover and had a particular love of cocker spaniels, especially her faithful companion “Jack”. Faye was a training assistant at the R&R Dog Obedience School and traveled to many dog shows as a participant in the New England area where a few of her dogs won multiple trophies and ribbons thru out the years. Faye was also a member of the Hoofing Woofers, who would entertain nursing home residents with dog tricks and dancing. She also enjoyed ceramics and decoupage.
She will be lovingly remembered for her quick wit, sense of humor, and her many kindnesses to family and friends.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Faye was predeceased by her longtime companion and best friend, Gertrude “Trudy” Reges; a brother, John Russo; and two sisters, Angela Summa and Susan Kropp.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 1:00p.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 E. Main St., Torrington. Burial in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington will be held privately. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
