Allan G. Machrone

Torrington- Allan G. Machrone, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of the late Marlene A. (Corlatti) Machrone.

        Mr. Machrone was born in Torrington on November 16, 1940, son of the late Anthony Machrone and Rose (Gregori) Machrone Bates, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam Era Veteran and a member of the Marine Corps League. Allan was a retired model shop employee with B.E. Aerospace Co., retiring in 1997 with 29 years of service. Allen was a quiet, humble man with a great sense of humor. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and splitting his own wood; he took great pride in his home. Mr. Machrone will be remembered for his strong faith in the Lord.

        Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Machrone of Torrington; two granddaughters, Brittney Horan and Denay Lynn Porter; a grandson, Keyon Robinson; a great-grandson, Aiden Lyons; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Machrone was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Machrone, a sister, Marlene Machrone and his parrot of 50 years, Lucky.  

        Funeral services and burial in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, will be held privately. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
