Shirley M. (McDermott) Mercier

Torrington- Shirley M. Mercier, 86, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Litchfield Woods Health Care Center, Torrington. She was the wife of Frederick E. Mercier.

        Mrs. Mercier was born in Enosburg, VT on March 17, 1933, daughter of the late George and Irene (McDermott) Ross, and had been a Torrington resident for over 40 years. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and had been a member of the Torrington Fish and Game Club.

        Survivors, in addition to her husband, Frederick, include a son, Michael J. Bullard of Torrington; a daughter, Irene M. Beman and her husband David of Florida; a brother, Lester Ross of Florida; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

        Graveside services will be held Friday, November 8, 2019 at 1pm at Hillside Cemetery, 76 Walnut St., Torrington. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
