Harwinton- Patricia A. Gottschall, 80, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington, after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Frederick P. Gottschall.
Mrs. Gottschall was born in Torrington on December 13, 1937, daughter of the late Edward and Viola (Rogenski) Dwyer and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a retired bookkeeper with Brick and Taylor CPA, and the Tributary Restaurant. Prior to bookkeeping, Patricia was a teacher’s aide at the Harwinton Consolidated School. She was the President of the Lewis S. Mills High School Band Boosters for many years and a former member of the Harwinton Women’s Club. Mrs. Gottschall was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Harwinton, and taught CCD at the Church.
In addition to her husband, Frederick, Patricia is survived by her three daughters, Karen Alibrandi and her husband, James, of Westford, MA; Linda Gottschall of Torrington; and Kristin Novak and her husband, John, of Colchester; five grandchildren, Angela Alibrandi, Brian Alibrandi, Michael Gottschall, John “Jack” Novak, V, and Katelyn Novak; several nieces and nephews, and her dog, Jasmine, whom she adored. Mrs. Gottschall was predeceased by two brothers, Thomas and Edward Dwyer, and two sisters, Mabel and Viola Dwyer.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10:00a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 78 Litchfield Rd., Harwinton, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
