Torrington- Lloyd S. Cleal, Sr., 94, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018 at Regal Care, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of the late Katherine (Benche) Cleal.
Mr. Cleal was born in Bantam on May 5, 1924, son of the late Edward and Caroline (Parmalee) Cleal, and spent his early years in Bantam, before moving to Torrington in 1949. He was a retired mechanic and bus driver with E.J. Kelley Company, retiring with over 50 years of service. Mr. Cleal was an active, long time member of the Torrington Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed animals, bee-keeping, and tinkering in his garage.
Survivors include a son, Lloyd S. Cleal, Jr., and his wife, Judy, of Torrington; a daughter, Susan K. Blatchley and her husband, Craig, of Torrington; and a nephew, Henry Adams of Torrington. Mr. Cleal was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Newton.
A Memorial Talk will take place Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 4:00p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 121 Dibble St., Torrington. Burial will be private in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 3:00 to 4:00p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
