Torrington- Edward A. “Al” Ruzbasan, 93, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of 68 years of Elizabeth (Arnold) Ruzbasan.
Mr. Ruzbasan was born in Torrington on August 15, 1925, son of the late Andrew and Mary (Killiany) Ruzbasan, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a U.S. Navy Air Force Veteran, and a retired machinist with the Torin Corp., retiring with 40 years of service. Al had worked part-time with Borghesi Building & Engineering and the Harwinton Post Office. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Torrington. Al will be remembered for the great love he had for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Elizabeth, include two daughters, Charlene A. Serra and Mary A. Roberts and her husband, Christopher, all of Torrington; four grandchildren, Stacey Barber and her husband, Dean, Nicole Serra, Kelli Roberts, and Katie Roberts; four great-grandchildren, Violet Keyes, Desmond Keyes, Owen Barber, and Lucy Barber; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Ruzbasan was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services and burial in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington, will be private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
