Torrington- Bernice A. Weaver, 82, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry A. Weaver, Sr.
Mrs. Weaver was born in Torrington on April 25, 1935, daughter of the late Alfred A. Rhone, Sr. and Helen E. (Crosley) Rhone, and had been a lifelong Torrington resident. She was a retired assembler with the Kembric Manufacturing Co. Mrs. Weaver was a volunteer Bell Ringer with the Salvation Army during the holiday season. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, word searches, western movies, and loved music.
Survivors include four sons; Henry A. Weaver, Jr., John C. Weaver, Alfred A. Weaver, all of Torrington, and Marvin F. Weaver and his wife, Michelle of Harwinton; two daughters, Doria L. Battle and her husband, Major, and Cheryl A. Arroyo and her husband Ricardo, all of Torrington; two sisters, Bertha Hill of Waterbury and Barbara M. Watkins of Torrington; eight grandchildren, Sheila R. Weaver, June A. Weaver, Brandice L. Weaver, Terrell A. Weaver, Takeisha A. Arroyo, Kordel M. Weaver, Alexander J. Arroyo, and Jayden R. Weaver; five great-grandchildren, Kenuel T. Weaver, Marcus H. Zavala-Weaver, Analisya I. Zavala, Kawan C. Weaver, and Melvin H. Ashe; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Darryl Weaver; a brother, Alfred A. Rhone, Jr.; and two sisters, Joyce L. Butler and June A. Exum.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1:00p.m. at First Assembly of God Church, 387 New Harwinton Rd., Torrington. Burial will be private. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Church.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Fund.
