Bernadine "Bunny" (Stolicny) Smith

Torrington- Bernadine “Bunny” Smith, 77, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas W. Smith.

          Mrs. Smith was born in Torrington on October 6, 1941, daughter of the late Michael and Sophie (Herman) Stolicny, and had been a lifelong city resident. She was a graduate of St. Francis Nursing School and was a retired Therapeutic Recreation Director with Adams House, retiring with 35 years of service. Bunny was a lifelong communicant of Sacred Heart and St. Francis of Assisi Churches. She was a member of the Columbiettes, enjoyed reading, gardening, antiques, and loved her cat, Ashley.

          Survivors include two daughters, Paula Giammarino and her husband Louis of Brooklyn, NY, and Michele Smith of Torrington; a son, Jason Smith and his wife Eiling of Portland, three grandchildren, Sarah Farage, Adam Farage, and Jaxon Smith; a great-granddaughter, Angela Farage; many special nieces and nephews, and several cousins.

          A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 16, 2018 at 10:30a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 116 Grove St., Torrington. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
