Anna C (Hickson) Chepiga

Torrington- Anna C. Chepiga, 92, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Litchfield Woods Health Care Center, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Carl M. Chepiga.

          Mrs. Chepiga was born in Torrington on February 16, 1926, daughter of the late James and Anna (Maher) Hickson, and had been a lifelong city resident. She was a retired administrative assistant at the Torrington Company Corporate Offices, retiring in 1981. Mrs. Chepiga was a lifelong communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, and was devout to her Catholic faith. She was a very social person who enjoyed volunteering and having others around her.

           "Do not be sad for me, for I go to my Father in Heaven and his son Jesus."

          Survivors include two sons, Michael Chepiga of Framingham, MA, and Charles Chepiga and his wife Laurie of Torrington; a brother, John Hickson and his wife Jennie of Torrington; a sister, Catherine Champagne of New Hampshire; four grandchildren, Candice Abbiuso and her husband Christopher, Christopher Chepiga, Lindsay Ferrucci and her husband Joseph, and Kelsey Chepiga; four great-grandsons, Jack and Brian Abbiuso, and Mason and Camden Ferrucci; a special nephew, John Best; and several other nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by two brothers, James and Robert Hickson; two sisters, Margaret Rambone and Mae Machier; and one special nephew, Robert Best.

          The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Litchfield Woods Health Care Center for the wonderful care shown to Anna during her stay.

          Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial in New St. Francis Cemetery will be private. Friends may call Friday morning from 10:00a.m. until the time of service.
