John W. Higgins, Jr.

Torrington- John W. Higgins, Jr., 83, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at his home.

          Mr. Higgins was born in Torrington on June 11, 1940, son of the late John W. Higgins, Sr., and Julia (Seger) Higgins, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a retired employee with Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and earlier spent 30 years with Kelly Transportation. John was a lifelong YMCA member and enjoyed Notre Dame Football, UConn Basketball, the Yankees, and gardening.

          Survivors include a son, John W. Higgins, III, of Torrington and a sister, Mary Grenier of Torrington. Mr. Higgins was predeceased by a daughter, Colleen Ann Higgins.

          Friends may call Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington.
