Brian Michael Lusby

Torrington- Brian Michael Lusby (57) passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Bridgeport, CT with his wife the love of his life Janine by his side. Brian was born in Bayonne, NJ on December 14, 1966, and has been a Torrington area resident for many years. He graduated from Henry Abbott Tech in Danbury, CT specializing in machine shop, but in life, he spent many years as a commercial fisherman and truck driver. Brian enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son, family, friends, and his four-legged sidekicks Sierra & Cheyenne. An avid Nascar fan, his Sundays were dedicated to races, as his #19 Martin Truex Jr. flag waved outside his door. He was also a passionate fan of the NE Patriots and the Boston Red Sox!

        With his wife Janine by his side, Brian loved to get into their car and get lost for hours wherever the open road would take them, taking scenic routes through Maine, Vermont, and Rhode Island in search of the best clam chowder. He always looked forward to his trips to Maine for visits with his kids and grandchildren. 

        Brian is survived by his beloved wife Janine (Archambault) Lusby; his son Andrew Lusby and partner Melissa of Rockland, ME along with their children Aiden & Wyatt; daughter Rebecca Turner of Rockland, ME with her daughter Leah; Tiffany Scavetta and her husband Sean of Washington, ME with their son Brantley; stepdaughter Stephanie Farnsworth and her husband Eric of Torrington, CT with their children Zachary, Ryan and Michael; Melissa Dennis and her husband, Josh, of Torrington, CT.

        Brian is also survived by his 5 siblings Brigid Duncan of NH with her children D.J and Melissa; Brendan Lusby of NH with his children Nicholas and Hannah; Eileen Routhier of Newtown, CT with her girls Alexis and Madisyn; Heather Matte and her husband Butch of Watertown, CT and their children Matthew, Alicia, Samantha, and Connor; and Issac Lusby of AR. Sister-in- law, Michelle Cole of Torrington, CT with her 3 sons Larry, Paul, and Randy and her grandchildren R.J, Adriana, Valarie, and Michael; Brothers-in-law, Richard Archambault of NC; Patrick Archambault and his wife, Pam, of Manchester, CT with their daughter Amy; and Raymond Archambault and his wife, Debbie, of Andover, CT and their girls Beth and Amber; the mother of his children, Gretchen Williams of Rockland, ME; Lou Ann, extended family, and many other special friends.

        Brian is preceded in death by his brother Charles Howard of ME and his nephew Richard Archambault of NC.

        The Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Talsania and the amazing team at Smilow Cancer Center in Torrington, CT. Also, the staff at the phase 1 clinic at Yale New Haven Hospital. Special thanks to St. Vincent Hospital for taking such great care of our Brian in his final days.

        A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until sunset with a memorial service starting at 1:00pm, at Burr Pond, where their love story all began!
