Joseph Kiss

Torrington- Joseph Kiss, 73, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 in his home. He was the beloved husband of Gertrud (Schmiz) Kiss.

        Mr. Kiss was born in Csongrad, Hungary, on December 27, 1941, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Fulop) Kiss, and had been a Torrington resident since 1967. Joseph was a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran, a retired cable technician with SNET and AT&T, retiring with 30 years of service, a former member of the Torrington Lodge of Elks, and enjoyed playing soccer in his earlier years.

        Survivors, in addition to his Wife Gertrud, include a son, Michael Kiss of Closter, NJ, a daughter, Nicole Schmid of Germany, a sister, Judy Czirjak of Little Ferry, NJ, and two grandchildren, Harper Kiss and Sullivan Kiss.

        Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 2:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will be private. Friends may call Saturday from 1:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. at the funeral home.
