James Paul Pellegren

Danbury- James P. Pellegren, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 6, 2016, after a brave and brief battle with cancer.

        “Jay” was born in Torrington on January 20, 1961, and attended local schools and Southern Connecticut State College. He was employed by A.H. Harris and Sons. Jay was an avid sportsman, known to many, especially for his favorites of golf and ice fishing. He played in many baseball, softball, and basketball leagues throughout the years.

        Jay was predeceased by his parents, father James V. Pellegren, Jr., in 1970, and his mother, Lorraine (Sikora) Pellegren in 2011. He will forever be in the heart of his fiancée Jane Gill and her family, his children, son Justin Pellegren of Portland, Maine, and daughter, Macie Pellegren of Torrington, a sister, Patricia (Pellegren) Triggs and her husband Tim, as well as many dear family members and friends.

        A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 12, 2016 at 10:30a.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 E. Main St., Torrington. Friends are asked to meet directly at the Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington.
