Elizabeth "Betty" M. (Perugini) Zucca

TORRINGTON-  Elizabeth M. Zucca passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Regal Care of Torrington. She was the wife of the late George F. Zucca, Sr.

        Born April 18, 1919 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Perugini) Perugini. "Betty" and her husband George owned and operated S&G Chevron on Bank St. in Waterbury for many years. She was an expert seamstress, and also crocheted many lovely items for friends and family. Betty enjoyed playing Bingo, going on Cruises, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters. 

        She is survived by her two sons, George F Zucca, Jr. and James P Zucca, Sr., two former daughters in law, Loretta (Pinki) Chillemi, and Laurie Zucca; four grandchildren, Heather Fogg, James P Zucca, Jr, (Tina Zucca), Rebecca Cipriano and husband Joe of Southbury, Michael D Zucca; five great-granddaughters, Victoria (John Connor) Nagy, Melanie Zucca, Melissa Zucca, Angelina Cipriano and Francesca Cipriano.

        Also left to cherish her memory is her sister-in-law of 70 years, Mary (Gresham) Perugini; nieces, Allison Maria Perugini and Elizabeth Ann (Perugini) Vogel and her husband John; nephew, Andrew Alfred Perugini; great nieces and great nephews, Sandra Retkowski, Sara Dziedzic, Damon Vogel, and Drew Vogel, and great-great-nieces, Chyna Lyric Davis and Davinity Elizabeth Smallwood. Mrs. Zucca was predeceased by her brother, Alfred Mario Perugini, a niece, Bronwen Mary Perugini, and a nephew, Paul Andrew Perugini.

The family would like to thank all the Staff at RegalCare of Torrington, formerly Paradigm Health Care, for the loving care they gave to Betty, making her last years happy and enjoyable.

        A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 12:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. at Torringford Manor Bed & Breakfast, 1440 Torringford St., Torrington. Burial in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury, will be private.

        At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
