Harwinton- Edward H. Sexauer, 92, died Monday, February 1, 2016 at Hartford Hospital.

        Mr. Sexauer was born in Torrington on July 22, 1923, son of the late Frederick and Olive (Johnson) Sexauer, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a retired mechanic with Gallicchio Transport, retiring with many years of service. Edward was a lifelong communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church in Torrington, and was an active volunteer at the Community Soup Kitchen. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and photography.

        Survivors include three sisters, Lorraine Simonin of Harwinton, Margaret Santor of Bristol, and Dorothy Pisarcik and her husband Ray of Harwinton, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Frederick, Raymond, and James Sexauer, and two sisters, Olive “Dale” Viada and Virginia Seemet.

        Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 10:00a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to Trinity Episcopal Church, 220 Prospect St., Torrington for a service at11:00a.m. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
