Edna J. Juan-Wells

Torrington- Edna J. Juan-Wells, 93, died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington.

        Mrs. Juan-Wells was born in Mt. Kisco, NY, on October 18, 1923, daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (Russell) Juan. She was a WWII U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, and her military awards and decoration include the American Theatre Campaign Medal, USMC Good Conduct Medal, and the Vehicle Operator/Mechanic Badge, and was a member of the former Marine Corps League, Torrington Memorial Detachment #1142. Mrs. Juan-Wells was a retired computer programmer with IBM, retiring with over 18 years of service. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Torrington, a member of the Daughters of Scotia, past Royal Matron of Laurel Court #8, New Britain, CT, Order of the Amaranth, and was currently a member of the Connecticut Grand Court, and held a Supreme Appointment, and had been a past Grand Royal Matron of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

        Survivors include two sons, Timothy E. Wells and his wife Denise of Lorain, Ohio, and R. Alan Wells and his wife Edith of New Milford; four granddaughters, Amy Wells, Sarah Anderson and her husband William, Laura McGuire and her husband Timothy, and Jacoba Wells; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

        Funeral services with full Military Honors will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 3:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will be private. Friends may call Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 1:00 to 3:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
