David N. Hart, Sr.

Torrington- David Neil Hart, Sr., 84, of Torrington, beloved husband of 62 years to Maureen (Bosley) Hart, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

        Dave was a leap year baby, born on February 29, 1932, in Litchfield, son of the late Walter and Lydia (Teichert) Hart. He was a resident of Torrington since 1954. Dave was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at, and retired from Pratt & Whitney in Southington, and also worked at Erlangers clothing store in downtown Torrington. Dave had three great passions, his family, his hobby-metal detecting, and traveling with his wife.

        In addition to his wife, Maureen, he is survived by his sons and their wives, David Jr. and Lesley Hart of Coventry, Richard and Patricia Hart of Burlington, CT; his daughter Cheryl Herlihy, and granddaughters Erin and Kristen Herlihy, all of Farmington. He was predeceased by a sister Constance Kopf, of Fairbanks, AK, and 4 brothers, Richard Hart, Walter Hart Jr, Robert Hart Sr, and John Hart Sr, all of Torrington.

        Funeral services will be held Friday, August 19, 2016 at 9:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30a.m. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Thursday, August 18 from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
