Clarence "Pete" B. Suydam

Torrington- Clarence B. "Pete" Suydam, 93, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at Valerie Manor, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of Olga (Tonon) Suydam.

        Mr. Suydam was born in Winsted on February 14, 1923, son of the late Chester and Helen (Green) Suydam, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran, and was a retired machine shop foreman with Fairchild Automotive. Pete enjoyed woodworking, reading, and fishing.

        Survivors, in addition to his wife, Olga, include two sons, Timothy P. Suydam of New Hartford, and Jonathan R. Suydam of Torrington, two daughters, Wendy S. Draczynski and her husband Andrew, and Heidi S. Smith and her husband Geoffrey, all of Torrington, one sister, Nancy Suydam of Winsted, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews..

        Funeral services will be held Monday, April 18, 2016 at 1:30p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Monday, April 18, 2016 from 11:30a.m. to 1:30p.m. at the funeral home.
